Allergens

In order that my customers are able to make well informed choices  , I must point out that I am not registered as gluten free (yet), Although I take great care to ensure no cross contamination occurs, a small risk of traces of allergens may be present . Our cakes are made in a kitchen that also makes products containing wheat, nuts, dairy, soya and egg.
By ordering a cake from Jill the Cakemaker you are agreeing that you accept this risk.

Consultations

Wedding and Special Event cakes may require a free consultation, this can be carried out at a location of your choosing within 20 miles of Jill the Cakemaker or by phone or email. Arrangements can be made for consultations further than 20 miles but a mileage charge will apply.
If you require samples of specific flavours of cake please let us know when you are booking your consultation.
Please remember personal safety is important .We will not arrange to meet you at any location which we believe will put either you or us at risk.

Quotations

Initial quotations will be based on the information you provide minor changes included. If you subsequently decide to make substantial changes to the type ,size , design , shape or decoration of the cake , we reserve the right to send an amended quotation reflecting the extra costs involved in making those changes.
If you fail to provide details of the specific details of the decoration required (such as bespoke cake toppers or specific ribbons or ornaments or cake jewellery) at the initial quotation stage, you must be prepared to bear the cost of these additions or to source and purchase the items yourself.

Orders

We prefer to have plenty of notice (three months or more is ideal) for wedding cakes/large cakes (more than 2 tiers) for special events,
3 or 4 weeks notice is usually sufficient for all other cakes and biscuit orders.
We are able to produce a small number of cakes at short notice for which an additional premium may be payable, subject to the availability of the date required.

Deposits

Wedding cakes require a deposit of £50 to secure your booking and the date. Deposits are non refundable.
Final Balance Payments
Wedding cakes: Remaining balance payable 1 month prior to wedding/event date.
We require payment in full on placement of order for all other cakes.

Cancellation

Deposits are non-refundable.
For non-personalised or non-food items you have the right to cancel for any reason within 7 days of placing your order. However, as our cakes and are made to order and personalised to your specifications, orders cannot be cancelled once cakes have been made. However, should you wish to change or cancel your order at any time please contact us immediately and we will do our best to meet your requirements.

If you fail to collect your cake on the date agreed without informing us, or in the case of Wedding/Special Event cakes , you fail to pay the outstanding balance by 1 month from your event date , we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee.

Delivery

Cakes will be delivered and set up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible.
We aim to arrive and set up your cake up to 4 hours before the start of your Wedding/Event (before guests have arrived.)
In the case of Wedding cakes you are agreeing to provide us with a suitable sturdy table and location within the venue to set up the cake where it will not be moved.
If these conditions are not observed or we are not informed in advance of potential problems , we reserve the right to refuse to set up your cake(s).
Cakes are to be collected from our premises at a prearranged time and date only.
All cakes collected by you cease to be our responsibility once they have left our premisis. Any damage to cakes whilst being transported by you are solely your responsibility. We may be able to assist you in rectifying damage caused by incorrect transportation , however we reserve the right to charge for this service.

Publication & Copyright

We reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by Jill the Cakemaker for publication at a later date.

We design and produce all our own cakes please do not reproduce our designs without our permission as you may become liable for prosecution.

Return of Hired Equipment

All hired equipment must be returned within 3 days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to wedding) or extra charges may be levied to cover further hire costs/ loss of revenue.

Any costs to repair/replace damage to hired equipment will deducted from deposits paid.

Please remember we try to keep our costs as low as possible to keep our prices competitive , another bride may have hired the same equipment for the following week and if you fail to return our equipment on time, we will have to buy replacements to meet our obligations
