demonstrations

Sometimes we say we will do something , and at the time we think this will be fine . But as the time approaches for the commitment we made to become a reality , we feel a little anxious and wonder if we had made the right choice in saying yes  . I had an experience like this recently . I am a member of a cake decorators group locally in Hampshire  , we all try and help each other out with advice , support and lending equipment . one of the ladies on the group kindly asked me a while back if I would like to demonstrate something at her shop , at a new ‘cake club’ she was hoping to hold once a month . I agreed to do this and at the time was quite pleased to have been asked . However as the day approached and became more ‘real’ I began to wonder if I should have declined  , all sorts of self doubts and questions were going through my mind ……and then I remembered why I had said yes in the first place ……because I used to love  doing demonstrations 30 years ago when I first learned to pipe royal icing with great Eddie Spence MBE .  The demonstration wasn’t as good as I had hoped , and I learned a lot , to help me improve it for next time ……yes there is going to be a next time ………well if I get invited back that is ……
